How to read this page
Our rule: if an answer makes a claim that can be checked, the check is published separately, dated, on its own. This is that page for Susanne Shore, candidate for University of Nebraska Regent, District 04. Her full reply is on the Shore page and on In Their Own Words. Nothing here scores her, ranks her or says what she meant.
| Checked | We read the primary document ourselves. |
| Checked in part | We read what she sent, but have not matched it to the agency's own copy. |
| Reported, not confirmed | Someone said it, but we have not read a primary source that says so. |
| Not checked | A check exists and we have not done it yet. The row says what it needs. |
| Not a claim | A pointer, or a statement that there is nothing to add. Nothing to check. |
| Recorded | What she said is on the record. It is not a check of the thing itself. |
Question 1
We asked: A link to your written plan for the University of Nebraska.
| What she said | Status | What we did, and what is missing |
|---|---|---|
| The best information is at ShoreForRegent.com | Not a claim | It points to her campaign website. Nothing on this page depends on that site, and we have not read it for this page. |
| Her Sept 24 campaign text said she has “a plan for the future of our university.” | Not checked | Whether the plan is written down, and where, is what we asked. It needs her written plan, or her site read and dated. Not done. |
Question 2
We asked: Your NADC campaign finance filings, or where to find them.
| What she said | Status | What we did, and what is missing |
|---|---|---|
| The last filing was made in June, after the primary; the report is attached. | Checked in part | We read the report she attached: NADC Form B-1, period April 28 to June 16, 2026. Its numbers are on the Shore page. We have not matched the attachment to NADC’s own listing of it. |
| The next filing date ends today (Sept 29) and the report must be filed by October 5th. | Not checked | Needs NADC’s published filing calendar or rules. Calendar only, no source needed: Sept 29, 2026 was a Tuesday and Oct 5, 2026 is a Monday. NADC’s rules page has been pointed out to us and has not been read yet. |
| NADC does not allow a person to send a direct link to a specific candidate’s report. | Not checked | Her statement, not ours. Until 2026-09-30 the Shore page repeated it as a fact. It now says it is her email, and links here. We have not tested it on NADC’s site. |
Question 3
We asked: Any public forums you’ll be at before November 3.
| What she said | Status | What we did, and what is missing |
|---|---|---|
| A public forum on Thursday, Oct 1, 6 PM, at the Kroc Center in Omaha, sponsored by SONA. | Reported, not confirmed | Calendar check: Oct 1, 2026 is a Thursday. We have not read SONA’s own calendar or any announcement of a Regent candidate forum that night, so the sponsor, the hour and whether it is a candidate forum are her statement only. What would confirm it: SONA’s own listing, or a notice from the Kroc Center. |
| It is the only public forum on the calendar right now. | Not checked | We have no complete calendar of Regent District 04 events, so we cannot say whether there are others. |
Question 4
We asked: Anything you want on the record that the certified filing doesn’t show.
| What she said | Status | What we did, and what is missing |
|---|---|---|
| No additional information beyond her NADC filing. | Not a claim | A statement of what she has to add. She added nothing beyond the filing, and there is nothing to check. |
Question 5
We asked: Any correction to anything this site has already published.
| What she said | Status | What we did, and what is missing |
|---|---|---|
| No corrections to the information. | Recorded | As of her reply (2026-09-29) she did not dispute anything we had published: her candidacy, and the public-record note that she is married to U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts and uses her maiden name professionally. That records her silence on those points. It does not check them. |
| Her last name is Shore and always has been. | Reported, not confirmed | Consistent with our note that she uses her maiden name. That note cites Ballotpedia on the Shore page; we did not re-read Ballotpedia for this page. |
What we noticed on our own pages
The same rule applies to us.
The Shore page said NADC “does not allow direct links to individual candidate filings” as a plain fact. It came from her email and had not been checked. The line now says so.
The Shore page gives her May 12 primary result as 34.7% (9,846 votes) and Justin Solomon’s as 24.8%, citing Ballotpedia. An automated web summary read while preparing this page gave 34.8%. A summary is a lead, not a source. Until the official canvass is read, treat 34.7% as reported, not confirmed. The gap is one tenth of a point.
Still waiting on
- NADC’s Rules and Regulations and its filing calendar, to settle the Oct 5 report date.
- Her general-election NADC report, which her answer says is due Oct 5. It will be added here and on the Shore page when filed.
- SONA’s own listing for Oct 1, or any announcement of a Regent candidate forum.
- Justin Solomon’s answers. He has not replied as of 2026-09-30, and his space is held open. If he replies, his answers get this same page, the same day.
How this was checked
Read directly: the letter as sent on September 28, 2026 at 10:07 AM (for the five questions), her reply as received on September 29, the Shore page, and a calendar. Not reachable from the tools used for this review: NADC’s website, SONA’s website and the news sites. Web search summaries were used only to find leads; none is cited as a source on this page. Researched and dated 2026-09-30. Corrections welcome: hello@wethepeopleoftheusofa.com.
