What this page is, and is not
This is a list of places. It is not legal advice, and there is no form here: this site does not take your story, your name or your health information, and it does not pass anything to anyone. This site neither advocates nor files lawsuits. It publishes the dated record so you can check a claim yourself. What you do with the record is yours.
We have not asked any organization below to be listed, and we do not know whether any of them takes a case like yours. Where a list says “not checked,” the address is written from general knowledge, not from a document we read. Open it and confirm it before you rely on it.
If you think a legal right was affected
| Who | What they are | Link | How we know it |
|---|---|---|---|
| ACLU of Nebraska | A civil-liberties organization. Has a way to report a rights concern. Whether it takes a given case is its decision. | aclunebraska.org | not checked |
| Nebraska Appleseed | A nonprofit law and policy center that works on Nebraska public-policy issues. | neappleseed.org | not checked |
| Legal Aid of Nebraska | Free civil legal help for people who qualify by income. | legalaidofnebraska.org | not checked |
| Nebraska State Bar Association | A lawyer-referral service, to find a private attorney for a first consultation. | nebar.com | not checked |
A lawsuit on behalf of many people (a class action) is brought by a lawyer or an organization, on behalf of at least one real person who was affected. It is not something a website can start. Legal deadlines for bringing a claim exist and vary by claim. We do not know which apply to anything on this site, so if a lawyer might be needed, ask early.
If you want to ask the government a question, or be heard
| Who | What for | Link | How we know it |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Commission | Ask a factual question about the program. Its program manager has said it answers specific factual questions. Email, no form. | mcc.nebraska.gov | address seen |
| Commission meetings | Dates, agendas, minutes. Public comment is three minutes and needs no sign-up. | meeting-information | address seen |
| Your state senator | Find who represents you. Senators can introduce a bill, ask a question on your behalf, and hold an agency to account. | find your senator | address seen |
| The Legislature’s bills and votes | Look up any bill’s history, hearing and recorded votes yourself. | view a bill | address seen |
| Nebraska statutes | The text of the law, so you can read the rule yourself. | statutes | address seen |
| The Governor’s press contacts | The only route we have used to reach the Governor’s office. | press contacts | address seen |
| The Secretary of State | Petitions, ballot measures and election filings. | elections | address seen |
| Campaign-finance records | Who gave money to whom, in Nebraska’s own filings. | nadc.nebraska.gov | address seen |
What to bring
- Dates. When it started, who you talked to, when. The delay analysis shows what a dated list looks like for one program.
- Papers. Letters, emails, forms, receipts, a doctor’s note if your question involves your care. Keep the originals. Send copies.
- Your own story, short. What happened to you, in order, in a page. Leave out what you cannot back up.
- What you want. A number, an answer, a rule changed, a record corrected. A specific ask is easier to answer than a complaint.
- Privacy. Share health and financial details only with a lawyer or an agency you have chosen, not on a public page or in a comment.
The record this connects to
These pages state the dated record on Nebraska’s medical cannabis law. None of them says anyone broke a rule.
- The Delay, Dated: every step since the 2024 vote, with the days between.
- Nebraska medical cannabis: the dates: the vote, the court, LB1235 and LB933.
- Three Bills, Three Committees: LB474, LB677 and LB933 through their committees.
- Who Voted on LB474: the 2021 roll call.
- Five People, No Ballot: who sits on the Commission and how they got there.
- MCC transparency tracker: the Commission’s meetings and minutes.
- Kuehn v. Evnen: the Supreme Court case on the petitions.
What we have not confirmed
Whether any organization listed here takes a case like yours, or how it wants to be contacted. We have not asked.
Whether the four outside addresses marked “not checked” are current. We could not open them from where this page was built.
Whether any legal deadline was missed. Nebraska law (Neb. Rev. Stat. § 71-24,111, read October 10, 2026) names two dates for the Commission, July 1 and October 1, 2025, and the delay analysis sets the record beside them. We have not read the companion patient initiative, and whether a deadline can be enforced is for a lawyer.
The Nebraska Legislature has an Office of Public Counsel (Ombudsman) that takes complaints about state agencies. We have not confirmed its address or its reach, so it has no link here. Find it through the Legislature’s site.
