This Week in the Homework: Sunday, October 4

Questions sent, answers back, and two things I got wrong and fixed. Every count below can be checked on the pages it links to.

What went out

On September 29 I sent the same questions to the candidates for the Omaha metro boards and for Secretary of State. My log shows 43 asks sent that day, by text, email, or both.

What came back

Nobody is scored on any of this. A candidate who has not answered has not answered. That is all the page says.

What I got wrong

Corrected

My metro board page said five contests, eighteen candidates, and five written to. I checked the certified candidate list, page 5. It shows six seats and seven candidates. I had no source for eighteen. All three claims are removed and the correction is printed on the page, dated today.

One more is still open: the In Their Own Words page counts anyone who wrote back as having answered. The map counts only printed answers. The map is the stricter count and the other page needs to match it.

Where the map stands

The Oath Seekers map is now built straight from my roster, so it cannot drift from it. Today it shows 6 answered, 8 who wrote back, 55 asked and waiting, and 31 not yet asked, out of 102 candidates.

The Spanish toggle now works on every page. The Spanish is a first draft and I will keep fixing it. If a line reads wrong to you, tell me.

What happens next

I keep waiting for replies and I print each one word for word when it comes. A candidate can answer by email, text, mail, or form. #PROOF — trust, but verify.
