My three minutes

Meeting Nebraska Medical Cannabis Commission
When Monday, September 14, 2026 — 1:00 p.m.
Where 301 Centennial Mall South, 1st Floor Hearing Room, Lincoln
How it runs Show of hands · three minutes each · not a question-and-answer session
First words State and spell your name for the record

Good afternoon. My name is Angel Loza — A-N-G-E-L, L-O-Z-A. I live in Omaha.

I publish a free civics website that reports the public record with a source on every claim. It sells nothing and takes no position on medical cannabis. I write down what the government actually did, and I link to the document.

I have read this Commission's minutes and its agendas. I wrote to your office, and your staff answered me promptly and clearly. I want to say publicly that I appreciated it.

I came today for one reason. The people of Nebraska voted for this in 2024, and the part of the law that reaches an actual patient depends on one thing: a practitioner willing to write a recommendation.

So I have one request, not a question. If the Commission ever has a count — of how many Nebraskans hold a valid practitioner recommendation, or how many practitioners have written one — please publish that number where the public can see it.

And if that is not something this Commission tracks, publishing that is just as useful. Right now a citizen cannot tell the difference between a number that is zero and a number that nobody keeps.

Thank you for your time, and for the work of running a public meeting every month.

Slow down. This runs about two minutes at a normal pace, which leaves room to breathe. If you lose your place, stop and find it — silence is fine.

Leave out: any opinion about cannabis itself. The request is the whole point.

Exact quotes

Name and role first. If you cannot get it word for word, write PARAPHRASE next to it. A paraphrase inside quotation marks is a small lie.
Before you leave: ask whether the meeting was recorded, and grab a paper copy of the agenda if they have one — that is the citation.  ·  Ask before recording audio.
